Volumetrix plugin for FCP & Motion releasedPosted by Peter Wiggins
All,
OK, I hate spam on threads as much as anybody else, but maybe the offer of a licence as a prize in the raffle of the next meeting might save this post from the delete button. Just a quick note to say my new plugin for FCP & Motion has been released today [www.volumetrix.tv] What is it? Well, its a very quick way to get a volumetric light spill through and across text or any image that has an alpha channel. Imagine somebody shining a torch through cut out letters in a smokey dark room. There is a 15 day free trial of the plugin, so you've got plenty of time to try the thing out on a job and maybe even charge a client for it. Want to know more? there is a demo movie & instructions on the site as well. Have fun! Peter Wiggins idustrial revolution
I've tested the plug-in. I really dig it!

Hell yeah. This thing is particularly fun in Motion where you can get real time feedback on the parameters. Tweaking this baby on the fly outshines the Shine workflow in many ways IMHO. If you keep the Frame Margin parameter minimized while you tweak, you can get 30 fps feedback, even on my iMac.
If only we had 3D space! ;-) Kevin Monahan Social Support Lead, DV Products Adobe Adobe After Effects Adobe Premiere Pro Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro Community Blog Follow Me on Twitter!
Thanks Andy & Kevin
The plugin uses FxPlug which uses the graphics card so the beefier your card, the faster everything will go. This is the way FCP & Motion are going to expand in the future. Volumetrix runs in real time on my MBP -the demo had the load of the screen capture to handle too. Peter ps 3D space, would be great!
Man, I need a faster rig. Holding out for the next rev. MacWorld, one would hope.... :-)
