All,

OK, I hate spam on threads as much as anybody else, but maybe the offer of a licence as a prize in the raffle of the next meeting might save this post from the delete button. smiling smiley

Just a quick note to say my new plugin for FCP & Motion has been released today

What is it? Well, its a very quick way to get a volumetric light spill through and across text or any image that has an alpha channel. Imagine somebody shining a torch through cut out letters in a smokey dark room.

There is a 15 day free trial of the plugin, so you've got plenty of time to try the thing out on a job and maybe even charge a client for it.

Want to know more? there is a demo movie & instructions on the site as well.

Have fun!

It's Shine for FCP...nice.

...that Demo Movie is a brutal download...I stopped it after 15 minutes of waiting (didn't even get half way through).

Mine starts to play after a few seconds as the file should stream. Yes, its a big file but should play ok, you are the first I've known to have problems, but it has had 50 hits today already.

Good job I've got lots of bandwidth with my hosting company smiling smiley

Michael,

I'm the guy who authorises the licences, so let me know when and where.

BTW for any web guru's out there, there was a bit of a slowdon at the site,
but we had 1.8 Gig of traffic in 2 hours.

Phew!

I caught it at the slowdown, I guess....maybe my shared T1 at the Studio too. My bad sad smiley

Peter,

You just sold a lot of software -- your online demo sold me -- I'll be downloading and purchasing a copy when I get back to my home computer -- very nice work - Andy

Hell yeah. This thing is particularly fun in Motion where you can get real time feedback on the parameters. Tweaking this baby on the fly outshines the Shine workflow in many ways IMHO. If you keep the Frame Margin parameter minimized while you tweak, you can get 30 fps feedback, even on my iMac.

If only we had 3D space! ;-)

Thanks Andy & Kevin

The plugin uses FxPlug which uses the graphics card so the beefier your card, the faster everything will go. This is the way FCP & Motion are going to expand in the future.

Volumetrix runs in real time on my MBP -the demo had the load of the screen capture to handle too.

Peter

ps 3D space, would be great!
