Why can't I see Keyframe Overlays?

I need to adjust levels of my audio. I have the grey waveform visible, but no red level overlay lines to adjust.

Clicking on the overlay toggle doesn't bring it up.
I have checkmarks next to all track display show options in timeline options in user preferences and I restarted.

My other project shows the level overlays even without any of those boxes checked; all it takes is clicking the toggle.

Footage in both projects is 24pADV from the same DVX100.

Thank you

Press APPLE-0 to bring up Sequence Settings. Make sure "Timeline Options - Keyframe Overlays" is checked.

And I'd advise turning off Waveform Displays in the timeline. It slows down navigation big time and necessitates creating a whole lot of redundant files in the Waveform Cache. If you need waveforms for a clip, open up the clip in the Viewer. That big waveform draws itself much more quickly.
