RAID 1 on SATA MAX

RAID 1 on SATA MAX

We've got two SATA RAIDs that are 2.5TB per enclosure, so 5TB. Each enclosure contains five 500 GB drives. We're wanting to RAID 1, so that we can mirror one tower, and have everything backed up.

ProMax says that it cannot be done, that we can mirror one drive but not five. Is this correct? Any ideas how we can do this?

Thanks, any and all.

I'm certain that more than one drive can be mirrored since such RAIDs are offered. The issue at hand may be about trying to mirror five drives since you would probably be spanning two SATA controllers and this may be a problem. Contact your controller manufacturer to get the lowdown on any limitations.
