Onlining AVID EDL in FCP 5

Hello,

I'm on a mac G5 with OS 10.4.8 and FCP 5.
I have to take an EDL from an Avid (old school ABVB style) and do an online in FCP.
Today I did a test EDL and per a colleagues direction opened cinema tools and did an export of the file (24 from 30 option), I then tried to import this newly created file into FCP and I got an error message "badly formatted edl"
Not sure how to troubleshoot this.

i think the duck still cant handle different frame rates (though i could be wrong)

so the avid project was cut at 24fps?

Yes we cut in Film Cutlist mode on the AVID.
Shows have been onlined here like this on this system, but I'm new to it, I usually am an editor on one the old Avids.

I spoke with the guy who did onlines here in the past and tried the test edl with him on the phone but it wasn't working.
Maybe a setting in FCP?
