Audio out of sync when video uploaded to YouTube

I've been trying all sorts of different compression schemes to get a simple 3-min. video clip to play correctly when uploaded to YouTube. The audio is about 1/3 sec. behind the video, throughout the clip. The video looks fine.

With FCP 4.5, I've tried H.264, MPEG-4, Cinepak, and one more video codec; for audio I've tried AAC, MPEG-4, Qualcomm, and several kHz rates, mono and stereo.

YouTube recommends fixing audio sync problems by converting .mov files to .avi or .wmv before uploading, and using MP3 for audio. However, FCP doesn't give me those options. So with After Effects I used Cinepak to output an .avi file, but it looked horrible, even at 80 MB! My 6 MB .mov clip looked a lot better.

Any ideas? I'd rather not buy additional software. It seems that there should be a relatively painless solution within FCP and/or After Effects.

There's not a solution inside FCP. To convert a file to .wmv you need a program called Flip4Mac.

I had only one YT video with bad audio snc --I just reuploaded to fix--

QT Conversion -
I use mp4 -- Hi DSL cable settings - 29.97 frame rate --
15 to 90 key frame -

Also--
The Audio levels have to be run in the Red to have Normal
audio volume after compression by YouTube---

YouTube drops the audio volume during compression - Alot-

I have no idea why this happens but I think they
may have written this Into there compression sceam to
reduce the Blown out audio delievered by users --

I run levels to the edge of cliping-- works good for me--
Normal audio levels plays back Very Low -

YouTube is constantly redoing there there compression
setup so the high audio setting my be a thing of the
past very soon--Jay--
