Recording isight video into FCP?

Is there a way to get FCP 5.1.4 to record video & audio from my built in isight on my macbook pro?

Nope, but you can with iMovie.

In QuickTime Pro you can record new movie and import into FCP but you have to, after recording to QT export a movie to Quicktime movie and set output to your Final Cut settings.
For recording go into preferences (not QT Preferences there are 2 ) and click on the recording tab and change quality tab to device native.
