Adjusting Chroma

I was wondering if someone could point me to an easy to read, concise article on properly adjusting chroma levels. I put together a program in FCP which looks pretty good on a high end properly adjusted monitor. However, under the heading of knowing what I don?t know ? I would like to get a better idea of how to use the vector etc to ensure that what looks good to me is technically accurate. I know that color correction is quite a skill and I don?t want to insult the pro?s by thinking I can read an article or two to figure it out but something to get me started and or thinking along the right lines would be appreciated.

thanks

One of the best Color Correction DVDs out there is Color Correction in Final Cut Pro by Ripple Training. Has a great section on Chroma, Luminance etc

And even that training won't tell you how to talk to a client that has fallen in love with an illegal color.

See: Cheerios Yellow.

Color correcting to be good to your eye is only half the battle......

Every specialist got started in exactly the same way you are approaching it. I don't reckon there's ever a need to apologise for trying to learn more about what you do.

And I agree about the DVD. Good simple overview, including reading scopes, which is what you need to know so that you can fight coherantly with the Cheerio's guy. winking smiley
