trying to update from 5.0.1 and 5.0.4 to 5.1.4

for some reason, i stopped getting automatic updates for FCP5. i now have a project that was started on 5.1.4 and i need to continue on one of my machines. anyone know how/where to get the 5.1 update so that i can then load the 5.1.4 update?

Unfortunately FCP 5.1 is an upgrade, not an update.

Anyway, the 5.0 to 5.1 crossgrade was $49.00 until about a month ago. Now, it is $499.00, but wait - there's more. You are probably better off to wait another few days to get 6.0 for $499.00.

I have FCP 5.1 and I need to update it to 5.1.4. What are my steps if possible. I will be getting the 6 upgrade the 15th but I need this update for HDV editing reasons.

Just install it. Its available from your software update control panel. Just unhook any external drives first before you install.
