FCP crashes after Installing

Hi guys,

I'm trying to install FCP 3 on a G4 733mhz with 512mb of ram. I want to use this station just for logging and capturing dv pal media as im using the G5 with fcp 5.1.4 to do the offline and online.

the problem is FCP will install nicely with no error messages, but when I try to start up the app I get "FCP has unexpectedly quite". I went and reinstalled FCP 3 and it happened again. so i installed FCP 3 for a 3rd time, repaired permissions, restated the machine, launched FCP 3 and you guessed it, it happened again.

The reason im installing FCP 3 is because we recently moved office and our FCP 5 installer disc went missing, stolen, or decided to take a stroll around the country. I've got 2 tv series im editing and interns doing the logging and capturing of 5 to 6 tapes a day. I can't have them and myself working on the same computer.

Can anyone out there help me. Its 12.40am friday here in malaysia and i've got to have this G4 with FCP 3 up and running by 10.30am.
