final collapse on start-xvid not loading

i just immigrated from g4 2 imac intel.
final collapse on start.
in the console the massage is-
dyld returns when trying 2 to load/library quicktime/xvid-codec-r58 intel.component/contents/mac os/xvid codec
i looked at quicktime library and xvid is there.
may be it's not intel?
what should i do?

i've installed 5.1 and now system10.4.9 doesn't recognize final at all.
after clicking on the final icon nothing happens and it does not open.

Trash your prefs. And throw out that xvid file for sure. If you copied all your Library files over from your G4 then you have a lot of non-Intel files.

If you can't get it to work, I might suggest you try creating a new user account and see if FCP will launch from there, without any of the baggage from your current emigrated account. Start clean.
