general mac finder question

I have to start backing up FCP render and capture scratch files
to fixed sized hard-drives ie: the 500G external for example.

I have more PC than Mac experience but here is my question
On a PC you can right click the properties of a folder and it might
say 300G in 26 files.

For back-up purposes I was wondering if the Mac finder will let me
do the same thing, and find out the total size of one of my FCP
capture scratch directories.

Thank you for your help!

Apple-Option-I will also get you an info window that displays the "get info" of whatever item is selected.

I use right-click all the time on my Macs and have for several years -- both Apple and Logitech multi-button mice support right-click shortcut menus these days-- just set up the secondary button in the Prefernces Pane> Keyboard & Mouse pane or special Prefs pane for the mouse you're using. Select any drive or folder and click "Get Info" in the menu.
