Been happily working along, had a power failure last night and now my i find that Apple Firewire PAL is missing ??? I tried trashing prefs, nothing. tried reinstalling FCP, nothing. Repaired Permissions, nothing. Rebooted.. nothing... please help.. can't capture off firewire if my system won't see it...

Thanks guys....

Not sure what you mean. You cant capture? As in your Mac does not see the deck any longer? Try shutting down Mac, unplug the deck. Go have a cup of coffee. Plug deck back in, turn it on and set it to VTR mode, turn Mac on, boot into FCP. See if that helps.

Here is the problem.. If I go into Audio/Video Settings and click on 'Video Playback', the APPLE FIREWIRE PAL codec is not there, I can't select it at all... I have even tried going through the complete delete and re-install of Final Cut Studio, and still nothing... Even when I'm starting up FCP, it's already telling me that Firewire can not be found...

Please help...

If it's not there it's because FCP is not recognizing an attached PAL DV device.
