Outputting AVI files for Maya PC for special effects for a short Sci Fi film.

Hello,

Thanks for taking a look.

I have a short film that I shot on 24P with the DVX100. My rather inexperienced effects man is creating special effects for my short. He wants to start experimenting by having me get him some AVI files for his Maya software.

Questions:

1) I'm Exporting out an AVI file with no Compression, millions of colors, no sound, and at 24 frames. Is this the best I can get my guy the footage? Should I use Best? 24? 30? 29.97? for frame rate. The DVD's I burned of the AVI's all play in slow motion on my PC in Windows Media Player.

2) If this is just R&D stage to see some test footage and mess around, what would be the BEST way to get him my footage? I think hot syncing with the external drives would be best right? And conversely when he's done with it how do I input it at best resolution back in?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Patrick
