'Project locked by other user" help

Sorry if slightly off topicl this concerns an iDVD file, but I think I have had it w/ fcp file sin the past too.


I'm trying to move an iDVD "archived" project from my dual 1.42 to my mac pro. When I open it on mac pro, it says. "File is locked by other user- File can not be opened"" and gives the user name.

I have gone into the get info window, changed the file ownership to any of the options possible, and still can't get the file to unlock. BTW, the LOCK checkbox is not checked- and never was.

I've had problems like this before with moving files and dont remember any solid solution

Update-

Created a new account on macpro, using the same name as the other computer account. Looged in as this new account and then was able to open the file. Logged out and back in as origianl user- and I can still open the file.
So I'm still not quite sure what the answer is- Do I need to keep an account on the mac pro whose nmae matches the old computer or what- guess more testing is in order.

or is this problem even specific to iDVD? I've gotten alot of "error 41"s when opening fcp project files that I've transferred from one compuetr to the other.

Another slight mystery slightly- but not completely- solved...kinda

Run this by MacOSXHints-- a great forum site when it comes to system/application oddities. The gurus there may have a simple terminal command to change this.
