Recapture Sequence Media Only

I have a 4 min sequence and I would like to recapture that media only with the additon of 1sec handles.
If I try to select the sequence and capture, FCP wants to capture the hour worth of footage referenced.
I ended up exporting an EDL, but could only do 2 video tracks at a time and 4 audio tracks. Since I have more tracks I had to export multiple EDLs then rebuild them. I think there has to be a better way.

I would like to know if there is a setting where I can select my original sequence and tell FCP to capture only the 4 min of media in the sequence with the additon of handles.

Forget EDLs. Use Media Manager. Read up on it in the manual before you do, though -- Media Manager can cause you lots of grief if you don't know how to use it or pick the wrong settings.
