Audio from timeline to CD

Audio from timeline to CD

I need to take the audio track from an ad I produced and record it to an audio CD for a radio station. I did an export to quicktime set to 44.1 and created an aif file (isn't that basically what an audio cd is?) and burned it to a cd. The player could play it, though. Is it because the disc wasn't finalized, and how do I do that? Or am I missing a step somewhere?

I imagine you'd wanted to write "The (CD) player couldn't play it".

An audio CD isn't just a data CD with an AIFF on it, which is probably what you did. You need to use iTunes or Toast, drag the AIFF onto a list there, and burn an audio CD. Also, computer-created audio CDs aren't guaranteed to play on all CD players, though these days the compatibility rate is pretty high.

Nice tute, Scott. I'm adding that to the FAQ. It looks like it's audiophile week in here this week. smiling smiley
