Wire removal to solve a problem?

Hi folks, got a problem needs a solvin'.

I've got a lot shots from a camera that had a problem. There is a white line across the entire picture towards the top fifth of the frame. It's a thin line, 3 scan lines vertically or so, perfectly horizontal from the left side of the frame to the right. Stays in the same place the whole time, no movement.

The linear nature of this arifact had me thinking "wire removal" software as a solution.
My first plan was to send the shots out to After Effects which has a simple wire removal tool.

But I am thinking it would be better to stay right in FC.

Are there any reasonably priced wire removal plugs for this? The Boris filters are a little out of the budget for this job. I could manually set up a mask with a fill but would rather get something smarter than that.

Thanks for any info!

If they are all there, wait until final export, send to AE and send out to compressor for dvd compression.

If it's selected 'shots' than maybe an 'in' fcp solutuion would be better

I risk scorn from Shake and Commotion users but-- have you tried duplicating the clip above itself and offsetting the duplicate 3 lines, softening the edges with Image Feather?

Cheeeap...
