Looking For Smash/Crash zoom transition

Hi,

I'm currently finishing up a pop promo and I'm looking for a Crash Zoom type effect for a transition. I seem to remember that the Eureka! plugins had one, however the site has no mention of FCP and e-mails sent asking if it does have gone unanswered.

Does anyone know if the Eureka! plugins work with FCP 6?

If not any other suggestions on where to get one for a reasonable cost or alternatively the best way to convincingly build one with available options in FCP 6?

You mean like a zoom in/zoom out to new scene kind of thing? I recall that's available in the Effects>Video Transitions menu.

Nearly, I need something that can be used to fake a crash zoom out so I can transition between two shots, one tight, one wide.

You mentioned crash zoom in the original post, too, and nobody knew what you meant then either.

If you'll explain what you're looking for, we can try and help you find it.

A Crash zoom is when you zoom out as fast as possible to your final wide shot.

It's a common term from a camera ops perspective (my day job)

Terribly overused device, too. It's like the '70s and bad kung fu movies all over again. Or Jess frickin' Franco!

But at least doing it in-camera is a lot better. Lots of fledgling hip-hop video guys have wanted me to "snap zoom" into a wide shot in post. That's when faces turn into blocks and smudges.
