P2 Import | Ingest

Hi Guys,

Please can someone answer a question for me on P2? I am running FCP 6.0.2, Dual 2,5Gig G5 with 2,5 Gb RAM. OSX 10.4.11.. When I select FILE.. IMPORT.. I don't get the Import P2 option appearing at all, not even grayed out..?? Does it only appear when you have a camera/card attached (which I don't right now)?? I understand about using Log & Transfer and that the system needs to be seeing the Reader or Camera connected...

12 Core Mac Pro, Snow Leopard, FCP 7.0.3, 8Gb Memory.

Import P2 was/is the way to do it in FCP5. FCP6 uses Log and Transfer only.

COrrect, the new menu option is FILE>LOG AND TRANSFER. But if you are able to import P2 with 6.0.2, you'll be one of the VERY few. The import option was busted for most of us with that update.

No fix in sight, Shane? Surely they've got to plug this one quick.

Not as quick as the 5.1.2 to 5.1.3 patch. STILL no fix...and not a word about one.
