Blue Stripe

I at times get the infamous "blue stripe" when shoot some 8mm film wide open.
1. can I eliminate this from happening
2. are there any filters in FCP that help get ride of the virtical blue stripe

There are at times vertical stripes that run along the film. Most of the time very faint, but more noticable in very low light exposures. Commonly caused from scratches on the film and when transfering come out as blueish stripping from top to bottom . Very thin, sometimes 2 to 3 lines.
It it very common with super 8.

If someone has shot a bit of super 8mm you will know exactly what I mean.

there is a plug in from Too Much Too Soon that deals with scratch removal, if its just a scratch.

i guess the scratch would be considerably larger on a super 8 frame, though.
harder to hide.
