OT: Film Editor Peter Zinner 1919-2007

One of the absolute greats in the industry, film editor Peter Zinner is dead at 88. Along with William Reynolds he edited Godfather 1 and 2 for which he was nominated for an Oscar. He won the oscar for his work on The Deer Hunter and was nominated for another for An Officer and a Gentleman. An obituary on Mr Zinner can be found on Variety dot com. Funnily enough i just finished reading the Robert Evans Bio "The Kid Stays In The Picture" this morning.
He singles Zinner out for praise pointing out that Godfather had no ending, before the editor decided to end on the now legendary montage.

Clearly a giant of the trade.
