Working in a 720p30 Sequence
DVCPRO HD 720p60 Compressor
960x720

100+ 3D grfx coming my way.
Would like them to play in realtime without rendering.

What AE setting should the artist use?

Thank you.

Are these grafix full composites or layovers with alpha channels? I would have him send a short test render with your exact sequence settings. If your 3D grafix have accompanying alpha channels for compositing over footage, you will not be able to get away with viewing realtime without rendering. Otherwise, as long as the 3d renders (full composites) match your sequence settings they will play in realtime.

Full composites.

Is it that simple?

The frame size HD (960x720) displayed at 1280x720 (I am correct here?)

I was thinking that in AE you would composite in 1280x720 - resize to 960x720 & export.

...just as long as they match your sequence settings...they will play. I would always run a short test render (especially if there are many renders coming in).

You can always export a 960x720 DVCproHD from Quicktime Pro if the artist sends you anything else!
