Unrendered Audio - during Edit to Tape
January 08, 2008 01:07AM
Hi there,

First time for this one: Doing an "Edit to Tape" in FCP 5.1.4. Have done this thousands of times and no issues but suddenly 4 different instances on the timeline give that beep-beep-beep sound during playout. All the audio in the sequence is from the same source recording(DVCAM PAL tape - recorded at 48khz and seq settings are set for this). I always press Alt R to render everything before I Edit or Master to tape and I always see FCP do an audio and video render across the timeline after the Edit to Tape command is executed, which it did in this case and still it layed that unrendered audio to tape.

Any ideas on the beeps peeps?

Did you do an Audio Mixdown as well?

No audio mixdown. It is a 13 track audio sequence.

You can increase the amount of RT audio tracks in your prefs. 13 is exceeding the default limit.

Audio Mixdown (OPTION-APPLE-R) is an additional audio render. It has nothing to do with how many tracks you're using. Just do it and see what happens.

Doing an audio mixdown should work- everything on the timeline will be rendered into 2 pcm audio files, resulting in less headaches for the system. (it's supposed to do it for you, but you're supposed to do it too).
