Maya export file type for FCP?

Ok, so this is really just a refocus of a previous post, quicktime white screen.

Does anyone work with Maya artists and if so what export file from Maya do you have them use for FCP? So I can tell the guy which to choose.

Nothing in the Lynda library's Maya instruction about the different export settings.

thanks!

You can export from Maya in the Animation codec. It can be any resolution you need so if you're working at SD NTSC you'll want 720x486, 29.97. I've received SD NTSC, 24pHD and 24pDV files from Maya operators. Animation is always the best choice because I never know what I am going to be editing on, AVID or FCP, and it works on either of those and it ALWAYS works in Quicktime, no matter how old the version is.
