Not rendering automatically

I am working in FCP 5.4.1 and all of a sudden my simple dissolves
aren't rendered automatically. What went wrong ?

You might have switched a timeline setting, such as Unlimited to Safe, or from Dynamic to Full. Check those out.

Render "automatically"? You mean the light green render bar over cross dissolves? Check your sequence settings as well if all your footage on the timeline comes with a light green render bar. That means the codec of your sequence settings and your footage doesn't match.
