render problem

I have been having trouble getting renders to happen. I keep getting this message:

If you can't read it, it says: File error: The specified file is open and in use by this or another application.

I have tried render all, render selects, etc.

I have tried restarting the computer and anything else I can think of, but when I try to render, I keep getting that message. There are no other programs running.

My set up:

Final Cut Pro 5.1.4
MacBook Pro
2.16 GHz Intel core duo
2 Gig ram
Mac OS 10.4.11

Any ideas? I'm stuck...

Thanks,

Pete

I'm pretty sure that's a bug that came from the FCP4.5-FCP5 upgrade. I used to see that at work (FCP5.0), but never at home (FCP4.5). The minute I upgraded to FCP5, boom, there it is. I haven't seen it in FCP6 yet, but I haven't used it as much, so it could still be there.

I haven't found any workarounds for this, myself, other than to just keep hitting OPTION-R. That error usually doesn't happen every time.

Thank you.

The option r thing worked. I had to hit it many times for some of the clips, but they finally all rendered.
