clips that show up as green in canvas

what does it mean when you get the totally green screen canvas while the TL is parked over a clip?

You talking stills? That would be because they are CMYK not RGB. Convert to RGB.

no not taking stills.

its happening on video. although i will say that on several occasions the drag seemed to create a still with audio.
i also get the grn screen when i use the overwrite button in the canvas. not on all clips it seems to be random.
