Assembling 'virtual source reel' WITHOUT clearing In/Out points
February 21, 2008 01:47AM
Hi all --

This may be a simple question, but I haven't figured it out yet ...

I want to assemble a sort of "dailies reel" (sequence) of many different clips of raw footage. A number of the clips have In/Out points marked already, but I want to include the ENTIRETY of each clip in the sequence. Easy enough so far.

But here's the catch: Let's say I want to do this WITHOUT clearing the existing In/Out points. (Perhaps someone else has marked them for their own purposes, yet I need to ignore those marks, temporarily, in order to do this.)

Any ideas?
Many thanks in advance for your help!

Ron

do the work in a NEW PROJECT.

there you can delete in/outs without affecting your working copies.

i assume you know this, but i'll add it anyway:

you can delete in/outs en-mass in the Browser.
select a range of clips,
control or right click on an in or out point in the appropriate browser column,
and choose "clear"

cheers,

Wow! amazing Nick! Never managed to figure this out! It's like that deleting P2 clips one at a time from the trash...

cool.

i'd add:

you have to click on a number.
otherwise you wont get the "Clear" option

(oh, and it's en-masse, with an "e", if you feel like going with that term)
