Edit AC3 files on a Mac

Is it possible to edit AC3 files on a Mac? I don't know of any software (that's not several hundred dollars) or any plugins for Soundtrack Pro that can do this.

All I want to do is perhaps normalize the audio, add fades at the beginning and ending, and sometimes copy the audio from one channel to the other channel.

I have been doing this on the PC with Nero's WaveEdit (with 3rd party free plugin), but it's a huge hassle to move it between the PC and the Mac.

Does anyone have a better solution?

Make sure you have DivX, as it says in the instructions, for the specialty AVI component stuff.
