Clip copy??

Hi All..

I am experiencing a phenomenon recently that I just don't get. I have an onboard SATA drive, wanting to copy 3 clips over to an external SATA drive. Off it goes, then gets to around 62% and quits! Comes up with Error -1309?? I tried doing them one by one, that also doesn't work..??

Please help..

Thanks.smiling smiley

External drive getting full? External drive formatted Mac OSX Extended? How big are these clips; what size does 62% come out to?

In my extensive Mac Error Code resource, it quits in the -1300 range at -1305, but that range is HFS (file system) errors.

Yeah, if your external isn't formatted to Mac Os extended and the clips are over 2GB, the transfer can't happen. FAT32 and NTFS formatted drives won't accept files >2GB on a Mac.

Hey Jude, thanks for the info.. it is in NTFS, and that explains everything..
We have ordered 2 new LACIE drives, so we'll switch over to them..

Thanks also to you Scott..

Thanks..

You could just reformat your existing drive and be golden. You'll find a lot of sentiment on this forum that buying LaCies is a big step backwards, due to their unreliability.
