The Better Reverse ClipPosted by J.Corbett
Reverse as in playing the clip in reverse (ie...a shot of people eating where food is coming out of their mouths onto the fork) or reverse as in a flopped image (ie...a shot of a subject on the right side becomes a shot of the subject on the left side)?

I bet he's talking about reverse action, not a Flopped scene.
The lousy quality comes from reversed fields. Try the Deinterlace filter on that clip if Speed's Frame Blending setting doesn't help. - Loren Today's FCP keytip: Toggle your Timeline Filters bar with Option T ! Final Cut Studio 2 KeyGuide? I believe Nattress has a free filter called G reverse which reverses the fields so the footage looks good.

There is also Motion, which has optical flow. Try it.

at normal speed G Reverse is just ... perfect
no need for anything else caveat: if you "un-render" a portion of a clip (like putting something above on an other track) you'll have to re-render the whole clip. As you will soon find out by yourself. they are (many) other ways to inverse fields but G Reverse is perfect, simple tu use and free. --------------------------------- A Day late & a Dollar-short Productions
