What makes the canvas freeze?

when i play the TL the canvas just stays on the last frame.

my fw out plays fine in the monitor so i can still work but the canvas is frozen.

select canvas, hit shift z for fit to window. Does that help?

Shift z doze nuthin. I am caught in a either or situation. If the canvas plays in real time, the monitor doesn't. If the monitor plays, the canvas doesn't.

I have toggled the "mirror on desktop" and that is either or also. If its on then the canvas doesn't play. If its off the monitor doesn't. I have never seen it act this way before.

but i am upgrading to fcs2 next week so i hope it doesn't do it then.
