Voice Over tool- Monitor?

Is it possible to both the timeline AND the live mic via any of the mac outputs? ( headphone,line out or firewire?)
Ideally, I would like to do this using my behringer mixer, but I always end up w some complex split signal, monitoring the live mic at the mixer and running headphones out of the mac to hear the timeline.

so again the first question- is it possible to monitor the live mic coming into voice over tool?

On the Behringer mixer, Ch 1 in from the mic, LR out from the mac/capture card into the mixer ch 3 and 4 (muted) and monitor Aux sends from those 2 channels. Something like that?
