I just read an article in Post Magazine, June 2008 issue, about a non-profit organization that teaches wounded marines a new profession, filmmaking.
The article, only in the print version of the mag, that I can tell, gives the website address: www.woundedmarinecareers.org if you'd like to see about it.
It's a great program, where not only do they learn skills for a new profession but also it's therapeutic because they get a way to tell their own stories to the outside world.
Participants shoot on Panasonic AJ-HVX200s, receive a mac pro laptopn w/FCS2, Photoshop and Final Draft (which they get to keep) and graduates receive Union Membership in IATSE.
Too cool for school!
