PHOTOSHOP meets FINAL CUT 5

Hi

I've exported a still via quicktime conversion to work on in photoshop, i then import the doctored png file into final cut (5) and line it up to composite over the moving image, but the png still of the moving shot is of a darker colour thus not helping for a seamless match

I've tried colour correction but it still doesn't match as if it was the exact same shades

does anyone know why this happens or how to fix it?

the file coming out of photoshop must be png . . .

But going in you should probably export from FCP as a native Photoshop file, not PNG. Export form PS in PNG for deliverable.
