QT7.5 and FCP 5.1.4

I haven't updated Quicktime in a long while. My system runs pretty well now, so I'd like to ask if there is any good reason to upgrade and if my version of FCP 5.1.4 will play well with it?

FCP 6.0.3 - QT 7.4.5 - OS 10.4.11 (PPC Dual 1.42)

FCP 5.1.4 - QT 7.4.1 - OS 10.4.11 (intel quad 2.66) all seems hunky dory for now and i run After Effects 5.5 with no problems....
