My graphics are jittering in PAL

My graphics are jittering in PAL

I'm working on fcp 6.04 and OS 10.4.1.

I'm cutting a commercial for a client in Italy, the timeline is in PAL 25fps and so is the footage Im using. However, when i import still photos and use them within the timeline, they have an awful jitter. I can't really de-interlace them to undo the problem since they are non-interlaced to begin with.

Does anyone know how or why this is happening and how to fix it.

Thanks for the thoughts.

Are they jittery just on the canvas or on the broadcast monitor too?

Is field dominance upper first?

canvas set to fit to window?

It's both in the timeline and on the monitor. The only thing i can think of possibly is field dominance.

You'll also see problems if the graphics are too bright, have too much contrast, have illegal colours or have thin lines in them.

Make sure your whites are not above 235, all your lines are at least 2 pix wide, and your colours are inside broadcast safe.

To quickly test if it's a brightness issue, lower the opacity of the clip in the timeline and see if this makes a difference.
