JPEGS and rendering

Hello,

I am well into editing a show that has storyboard drawings as a main storytellling tool. The director has given me a very large number of JPEGs which for the most part have dropped into the Timeline without a problem. However, now, way into the project I find that when I drop drawings into the Timeline, they need rendering....and then whenever I change the edit they need rendering again. This is very time consuming. I noticed that in a previous thread, there was a procedure for converting JPEGs into clips using a Batch Export process. That would have worked a very long time ago before the JPEGS were all timed into sequences. It's way to late to start over.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

no need to convert to video, this is an easy fix.

open your FCP system settings (Shift Q)
go to memory and cache,
up the RT Still cache from 10% to 20%

cheers,
nick
