Final Cut at KCBS-TV

A while back, there was a video on Apple's web site about KCBS-TV using Final Cut Studio and Final Cut Server for news and promotion editing, areas that have long been in Avid's domain. Does anyone know whether this L.A. station has had success with Final Cut, or if any other broadcast stations have made the switch?

I worked at the Golf Channel for 5 years and we used 5 FCP systems for all promotional pieces (commercials / sweepstakes spots / interstitials). The studio I work for now (EA Sports) is not a Broadcast facility, but we do have a ton of content being produced for both in-games and promotional marketing materials and we are dumping 2 - Avid DS Nitris suites and 2 - Avid Adrenaline HD suites for 4 fully loaded FCP suites.

When life gives you dilemmas...make dilemmanade.

FCP is simply a more nimble system than an AVID. an ad agency i work for recently stopped using an avid only shop simply because it took way more time and effort (even with a senior avid guy) to achieve the same thing you can do in a few clicks with FCP.
