canon vixia hf 100, power mac G5 & FCP studio 1

recetnly bought the canon vixia hf 100, and need help. or need to return it for lack of compatility, depending on your responses.

Have FCP Studio 1, and a 5-year-old Power Mac G5.

But just tried to download 8 gb & 16 gb flash SCHD cards, and my machine cannot read the SCHD f cards. Canon and a card-reader co., Jobo,
said the camera and Power Mac G5 are NOT compatible.

Is that true, and if not, how can i get my film into the computer. there must be some way, i am hoping.

Im already set up with Voltaic - but nothing is of any use since i cannot get the flash cards onto my no-so-ancient computer, and there cannot get anything to work with in FCP studio 1.
