the FREEZE after 5 minutes of caputre

Sorry if this solution is posted..I could not find it..

I have 4.5 FCP, 1.8 dual processer

When capturing after 5 minutes the frame freezes and the audio continues...most have said it is a bug in the quick time update Apple had us install...their must be a patch or solution that works...would uninstall , if possible, quick time and re-enstall from the original FCP disk do the trick?
Please help...it is impossible to do documentary long format editing with this glitch!

What version of quicktime are you running?
If you are using FCP 4.5 you need to be using QT 6.5.

Shane thanks..I think the update of QT went to 7.3..I agree , I would love to gewt the old QT version back...some have said to trash the QT receipts in library receipts- Jay

Well, it is pretty tied to the system. YOu can try Pacifist...but most likely this will involve a system reinstall to get you back properly.
