ridiculous off-sync problems

Greetings all,

I am having a very odd problem I have never had before.

A few of my NTSC clips are COMPLETELY off-sync with the audio when viewing them in the FCP viewer. However, when I open the master clips in the finder using Quicktime player, the video and audio are synced up perfectly.

Does anyone know why this is happening? I made sure my A/V settings are proper, and I even tried reimporting the master clips into FCP, but no luck.

Thanks a bunch!

Have you read this in the FAQ Wiki?

I've seen this happen. I don't know what caused it. In my case I had to delete the master clips and the media files, re-log to re-create the clip and then re-capture the clip.

Perhaps you're monitoring FCP through FireWire and the QuickTime Player through Built-in audio?
