JVC Everio capture into FCP

Does anyone know how to capture footage into FCP with a JVC Everio HDD camera. A buddy shot a wedding with one and wants me to edit the footage. I tried to log and capture but FCP 6 tells me the device is not communicating. Thanks in advance for the help.

Log and capture is for tape based material.

What camera is this? There are many different cameras in the Everio series. What format did you shoot? Oh and while you're add why don' you do the rest of it

Please give your full system specifications, what computer, what drives, what camera or deck, how everything's connected, what settings are on the media, what settings you're using in Final Cut, and finally what version of the software, of the OS, and of QuickTime are you using?
