Anyone using this with FCP? I'm assembling a system for a feature and want to try one out. If it works like Mackie says, it'll save me hours of work.

Also, does it hook up thru any simple midi controller or do you need something special?

at the last meeting (23rd) the tascam model was demoed, i believe
i wans't there (for some strange reason!)

but maybe someone can report

i;ve seen the Behringer model in action.
seemed pretty easy to set up,
i didn't really look at how it was plugged in,
but i;d say nothing special needed.

The Mackie Control Universal is terrific...have used it for a year...great for real time mixing and recording the keyframes....it's pricy...but for the time it saves us in mixes...well worth it.

I've used a FCS system with an MCU a bit and it's pretty nice. Works as advertised. And the flying faders just look cool. smiling smiley

Does it control room volume as well, or do you have a separate output from the system for that?

Nope - no audio passes through the MCU, just MIDI.

One last thing: What are you using as a midi interface? I was thinking of the M-Audio Audiophile USB since it offers audio outputs for both powered speakers and headphones.....

M-Audio MIDIsport 1x1 here - very basic 1-in, 1-out interface.
