I just bought the Canon HDH1 camera and shot some test video and plugged into the Mac G5 to see how it looks and Final Cut Pro 5 doesn't recognize the device. I have the capture settings set to Device Control: FireWire NTSC and Capture input DV NTSC 48kHz. I checked the system profiler and it shows the camera is connected. I'm connected via FireWire 400. I've been shooting with an XL2 for over a year and editing with no problem yet I plugged this brand new camera in and it just won't recognize it. I've tried refresh AV device, rebooting, repaired permissions. What am I missing? Thanks in advance. Brian

Brian's response to my Q. >"I shot in HD. >Brian" In that case you will need to use a HDV set up unless you are trying to down convert to DV NTSC. Also I believe FCP is still not supporting all the frame rates that the XLH1 is capable of yet so depending on the frame rate you shot with and the exact version of FCP you have, you may have problems. So to help people to help you, it would be to your advantage to list your system specs and as much information about your workflow as possible.
