OT: New Macbook Pro 17" announced...

For all you Mac Fanboyz & girlz that have to have the latest...here it is:



Pros:

? They did add an anti-glare screen to the options (they have heard us!)
? 2.93GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor option
? Supports 8 Gig RAM
? Claims to have up to 8 hours of battery life
? Mag-Safe Power / FW800 / 3 - USB 2.0 / Gigabit Ethernet / Mini-DVI

Cons:

? Still no Firewire400
? and something new...an EMBEDDED BATTERY!

Now is this any way to treat loyal users...by making them bring in their machines for a service call when the battery needs replacing??

Wow...ouch...cha-CHING!

When life gives you dilemmas...make dilemmanade.

1000 recharges too. That's like...3 years? If you only run the battery out once a day for little under 3 years.

No FW400...stupid!

Saw it this afternoon on the floor. Once you pick it up and feel how light it is you kind of say.. wow. The battery really isn't an issue unless it fails before it is supposed too. More like 4 years of life.

Still...it's a "disposable" laptop with an embedded battery. Just knowing I can't change out the battery if I am not near any electricity sux.
