Exporting Quictime getting Error: Out of Memory

I have found tons of posts regarding rendering and this error message (error: out of memory) however, I am getting it when trying to export a Pro-Res Quicktime. I can render just fine. Any suggestions?

Lepoard and FCP all most current version. I am trying to export a 1.5 Hour movie.

Thanks,
-Luke

Straight ProRes NTSC? HD? ProRes HQ? Where are you outputting to & how much room is left on that hard drive / array?

Hard to troubleshoot without a few clues.

first thing that springs to mind:
is the show rendered?
you'll get the same "render" issues if it isn't.

next, are you exportng usng QT conversion?
same thing goes for that, as FCP will be attempting to re-calculate all your FX

but maybe ths is just a simple export as QT movie, same settings from a rendered timeline.

sometimes i get a "Gerenal Error" when i try to export.
i just hit OK, and the sign oes away, and the export proceeds.
sometimes i have to hit OK a few times.

in general i suspect this is a RAM / memeory issue,
and is generally brought on by my having too many complex projects / timelines open.
if i close a few projects and timelines other than the one i want to export, i stop getting the warnings.

a whole 1.5 hr movie might be a bit much depending on the complexity.
you could try splitting it up into smaller sections.

I ran into the out of memory error for having imported too many or too large still images: this may fill the available FCP RAM. If this is the case increasing the Still Cache might solve the problem.

Excellent Solutions gentlemen, thank you very much.

I am trying to export straight Pro-Res (1280x1080 sequence DVC PRO-HD) and I have over 350gb available on the drive I am exporting to. (Shouldn't be the problem)

Some of the show is rendered... A lot of the real time effects are not. I am trying to export using quicktime conversion. I close all my other timelines before attempting my export.

I do have A LOT, of hi res images in multiple formats.

I will try all these solutions. Thanks Again!
