Viewer Tabs

I am creating a look in FCP. I am using 3 - 3Way CC on a clip. I want to close the tab of the 1st 3way and just have my second and third pass visible. I am using the CC layout and the tabs are crowded.

When I right click and choose close tab, it seems to eject the clip from the viewer.

Is this the norm or is there a keyboard shortcut to allow this to happen?
