File Error: Access Denied

File Error: Access Denied

I've replaced my scratch disc with a larger one, and cloned the old to the new, gave it the same old name, then made sure that ownership & permissions are identical:

You can: Read & Write
Owner: system
Access: : Read & Write
Group: : admin
Access: : Read & Write
Others: : Read Only

Ignore ownership is not checked

But now FCP seems to think that the hard drive is write only. I get the message "File Error: Access Denied" when FCP tries to save anything.

Totally mystified. I would appreciate any tips (or additional questions).

I thank you,
David

1. Make sure you have admin rights.

2. Make sure "ignore ownership on volume" is checked.

Also, just to double check, the drive is formatted to HFS+. I don't think you can clone to a different file system, but I could be wrong.

#2 - THAT'S IT !!!

(good grief, I thought I'd read to do the opposite)

Thanks you. Very much. I've been wrestling with this.
