cannot capture from samsung sc-d382

i bought a cheap samsung minidv cam to use as a portable dv deck so i dont mess up the head on my gl2, but my final cut wont let me capture from the samsung, and i have no problem capturing from the gl2. anybody know if its just the brand? should i take it back and get a cheap panasonic minidv cam instead?

YES. My stance is Panasonic only (consumer - pro) until i get ready to spend 20k+ on a Red. I have never used anything else.

if you are capturing via fw try a new cable.

Do you see any picture in the capture window or does it happen on capture?
